Originally from the Sunny state of California, JORDANNA RACHAEL MATLOCK, holds a Bachelors Degree in Bassoon Music Performance (BM) and a Masters Degree in Bassoon Music Performance (MM) from Arizona State University (ASU) in Tempe, Arizona. Jordanna moved to Arizona in 2011 specifically to study bassoon with Dr. Albie Micklich. During her masters, Jordanna was the Ethnomusicology teacher’s assistant for Dr. Ted Solis. She graduated Suma Cum Laude with her masters in 2017.
Jordanna is currently the Community Engagement and Education Manager at The Phoenix Symphony. Jordanna gigs in and around the Phoenix area and has subbed for community orchestras including the Chandler Symphony, the Arizona State University Symphony Orchestra, and the Scottsdale Philharmonic. She has also worked in various music organizations, including The Musical Instrument Museum as the Education Associate, and Musicology as an early childhood Music and Movement teacher. Jordanna teaches music lessons in her own private bassoon studio and at Rosie's House in Phoenix, Arizona.
In the future, Jordanna wants to perform and manage music in a way that fulfills her. She hopes to work in philanthropy one day. It is her vision that one day the world will experience the marriage of the arts.
